Birdies is an intimate apparel apothecary and swimwear boutique.  Our 500 square foot boutique is beautiful and comfortable.  Garments are hand selected and carefully displayed.  We treat our customers with respect and are proud to accommodate different body types.  Birdies is a clean, relaxing environment to reward yourself or someone you love to an elegant piece for their wardrobe.  We love hosting small parties and events!

Peregrine Honig and Danielle Meister will invite their customers to celebrate their boutique’s 9th birthday on February 14th with Dom Perignon and cardamom rose teacakes. A local and international “Best Of”, Birdies is an intimates and resort darling of yelpers, bloggers, fashion magazines and creative publications. Elegantly narrated and beautifully edited, Birdies reads as a cross between a1920’s apothecary and a Turkish boudoir. High-end intimates, French hosiery, and well-chosen resort pieces rest folded by size and shape in antique oak cases and glass front drawers.

Hand painted wallpaper, black forest antlers, etched glass Victorian doors, and Persian rugs complete the room. A Venetian blown-glass chandelier recently purchased in New Orleans blooms gilded lilies from a recessed circle in the ceiling.

Birdies is 500-square-feet with a curved stage dressing room. The silk velvet and charmeuse curtains were designed and dip dyed from gold to coral by Joscelyn Himes, a colorist for Vera Wang. Leaded glass mirrors and refurbished wood rooms renovated from a gentlemen’s shop make for a private and flattering undressing experience. Assisted fittings are available and garments are brought to customers through the curtain.

Birdies hosts trunk shows, small showers and showcases international musicians by invitation, transforming the room into The Bee Stage. Helen Gillet, Victoria Botero, Kim Boekbinder, Annie Ellicott, James Singleton, Mike Dillon, Beau Bledsoe, Melinda Hedgecorth, and Mark Southerland graced the small stage in it’s debut season. These “parlor room concerts” promote the boutique and celebrate the shop’s creative neighborhood. Hammerpress, independent shops, cafés, galleries, and the recently completed Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts frame west 18th street, the stores location.

Birdies co-produces The West Eighteenth Street Fashion Show, an annual event showcasing emerging designers and the boutique’s coming season. A constructed eighty-foot long outdoor runway, stage lighting, live music, and elaborate sets completely transform the street. The seated urban spectacle brings over two thousand people to a one-way city block every summer.
